Our beautiful Mediterranean climate lends many benefits to growing citrus however there are some challenges unique to our region! Learn how to successfully grow your own lemons, mandarins, kumquats and more right here in Napa Valley. This class covers everything you need to know: the best varieties for our climate, planting and soil preparation, watering and fertilizing practices, pruning for plant health and fruit yield, and how to protect trees from frost, pests, and disease.

David Shubin, an ISA certified arborist and owner of Fish Water Farms Garden Consulting, will hand out practical science-based advice tailored to Napa’s unique conditions. By the end, you’ll be ready to plant and care for citrus trees that thrive year after year…and enjoy the harvest in your own backyard!
